Earn Extra Income

Subletting your holiday home when you are not using it gives you the opportunity to earn additional income which can contribute to, or even cover, your running costs. You still have the flexibility and freedom that comes with owning a holiday home as you can keep dates for your own use and for friends and family to come and stay. All we ask is that you give us a minimum of 8 weeks throughout the season to let your holiday home on your behalf. Obviously the more weeks you can give to us, the more potential income you can earn. When choosing which dates to retain for personal use, it is worth considering when the peak demand is, as this is when you are likely to get the most bookings and get the highest prices for your holiday home.

Subletting through John Fowler Holidays, couldn't be easier. Once you have chosen the dates you want to keep for personal use, we will grade your holiday home so that it fits with our hire fleet grading and make sure you have the necessary inventory and required certification. The grade of your holiday home will depend on various factors such as the age of your holiday home, condition and features. Please note that if your holiday home takes pets, the highest grade we can award your unit is silver. We can also mark your unit as pet free if you don't want holidaymakers to bring their pets. When your holiday home has been graded, we will take you through our tariff to show you how much income you could expect to receive during a season.

We can then start marketing your holiday home on your behalf, we do this through a variety of methods including:

  • Our 84 page brochure which is mailed out to over a quarter of a million customers on our database
  • Regular mini brochures throughout the year
  • Our website which attracts over a million visits per month
  • Through trusted partners such as Hoseasons

We will take care of everything for you including all customer confirmations and collection of payment for the holiday, key handling service and reception support, the cleaning and supply of linen to your unit. You can view your bookings at any time via our Owner's Log In on our website and we will provide you with an annual statement with a breakdown of bookings and the income you have earned.

The commission we charge is set at 18% of the booking value (less any commission we have had to partners such as Hoseasons). For owners who are not VAT registered, the booking is not subject to VAT but a handling fee will be applied to ensure a parity of pricing. To view a copy of our letting agreement, click here.

Earn Enough to Cover Your Site Fees - Guaranteed!

All caravan or lodge owners can join our scheme which will guarantee enough money to cover your site fees, and probably more besides! We're so confident that we can get enough lettings for you that, if we fall short, we will make up the difference. All we ask is that your unit is graded silver or above and that you offer us a minimum of 14 weeks (7 of which must fall during our defined school holiday dates) for us to let on your behalf. Please note all sublet income will be included in the calculation to offset your site fees, not just the income from the 14 weeks.
